Guruji Srii Arnav

Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Gurur Devo Maheshvar,
Guru Sakshat Par Brahma Tasme Shree Gurve Namah.

In the Navagraha system of Planetary Gemology pearl is the gemstone that is used to enhance the powers of Moon. The planet Moon is by nature saumya (Gentle) and represents the manahsthiti (mind) of the Kalpurusha. An individual who has the Moon, well placed in one’s chart will be a balanced individual. Among all nine planets, Moon is the fastest moving. Consequently effects of changing position of the moon are felt by human beings and all the creatures of nature at short intervals.

The phenomenon of tides is also affected by the gravitational pull of the moon. Interestingly, it exercises a similar effect on the human body as close to seventy percent of it is water. Recent scientific research has also linked lunar cycles and occurrence of heart attacks.

Moon rules over the sign of cancer and when badly placed or under the influence of malefics gives ailments like tuberculosis, epilepsy, depression, mood swings, blood pressure, phobias etc. The gemstone of the moon is pearl. The ailments that have been attributed to a badly placed moon are cured by this gem. The pearl is a blessing as it presents a solution for maladies of the mind. Pearl bestows clarity of thought and gives stability of the mind.

Pearl is not suitable for everyone. Here we will analyze the suitability of pearl for the 12 ascendants from Aries to Pisces.

Aries Ascendant
Pearl is a good gemstone for the Aries ascendant as Moon rules over the 4th house of mother, pleasures and assets. If it suits the individuals, it bestows all pleasures related to the 4th house. Those individuals who have the moon in the ascendant, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 9th houses can go ahead and wear a natural pearl.

Taurus Ascendant
Pearl should be avoided in the Taurus ascendant unless Moon is placed in the ascendant itself and the individual is running the major period of the Moon. Generally it is seen that in this case, Moon gives problems such as asthma and common cold quite frequently.

Gemini Ascendant
Moon owns the second house of wealth. Pearl should be worn if Moon is placed in the 2nd house in its own sign or 10th house in Pisces only in the major period of the Moon after a suitable trial period.

Cancer Ascendant
In Cancer ascendant Moon is the ascendant Lord and is very auspicious. Moon placed in the ascendant, 9th house, 10th house, 11th house, 7th house will make sure that pearl suits the individual. In these positions Moon will bestow all comforts. However, those who have Moon placed in the 5th House in Scorpio should avoid wearing pearl.

Leo Ascendant
Pearl should be worn if the Moon is in exaltation in the 10th house. Generally it is found that the gemstone of the 12th Lord is not suitable for the individuals.

Virgo Ascendant
Moon becomes the 11th Lord signifying profits. It should be worn in Moon’s mahadasha if Moon is placed in the 9th house of fate or 11th house of profits.

Libra Ascendant
Moon becomes the Lord of the 10th quadrant of profession. If Moon is placed in the 3rd House, 4th house, 5th house, 7th house, 9th house, 10th house 11th house then pearl can be worn in the Moon Mahadasha.

Scorpio Ascendant
Moon owns the 9th trine of fate and fortune and is an auspicious planet for the Scorpio ascendant. Those individuals who have Moon in the 2nd house, 5th house, 7th house, 9th house, 10th house should wear pearl throughout life. Such a placement will ensure success in all fields.

Sagittarius Ascendant
Pearl should be avoided as Moon rules the 8th house of losses and accidents. In this ascendant, it is important to consider the position of Jupiter, Mars and Sun. If all three are not suitable, the pearl may be considered in the mahadasha of the Moon if it occupies the 9th house of fate.

Capricorn Ascendant
Pearl should be worn only in Moon mahadasha if it is placed in the 5th house of higher knowledge in exaltation. In case marriage is being delayed then Pearl can be worn for a brief period if it is placed in the 7th house.

Aquarius Ascendant
Avoid Pearl altogether unless Moon mahadasha has started and Moon is placed in the 4th house in exaltation.

Pisces Ascendant
Moon is an auspicious planet for the Pisces ascendant by its virtue of being the 5th trine lord of higher knowledge and diplomacy. If Moon is placed in the ascendant, 2nd house, 3rd house, 4th house, 5th house or the10th house, then Pearl should be worn.

Vedic Ritual for Wearing Pearl -
Pearl should be worn on a Monday in Pushya Nakshatra. Other constellations auspicious for wearing a pearl are Rohini, Hastha and Shravana. The pearl should be worn in silver in the little finger after prana pratishtha (consecration).

If these constellations do not occur in the period when the wearing of pearl is important then one may wear it on any Shukla Paksha Monday and in the Hora of the Moon.
Caution:

Those who wear pearl should not wear a Blue Sapphire, Diamond or Gomedh along with it.

The pearl is a very good stone. It gives a calming influence and keeps the minds focused and steady. It is found to have excellent remedial powers in the diseases commonly afflicting women. It controls mental anxiety and mood swings in a person and ensures that anger and depression are under control. It gives the capacity to enjoy and appreciate life.

Those individuals in who’s chart Moon is not well placed and is giving bad results in the mahadasha or the Antar Dasha should donate rice on Mondays, worship Lord Shiva (one of Shiva’s name is Chandramoulishvar-one who holds the moon on his forehead), wear two faced Rudraksha bead, offer water mixed with milk on the Shiva lingam on Mondays, respect mother and chant the Chandra Gayatri mantra. This will ensure peace and prosperity.
